Abstract

The rapid integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence within the ludic domain has catalyzed a fundamental paradigm shift in contemporary toy functionalities, transitioning them from passive artifacts into autonomous, adaptive companions. This technological application facilitates unprecedented opportunities for personalized edutainment and emotional scaffolding; however, it simultaneously necessitates a rigorous re-evaluation of sustainability through a more granular lens. The present study interrogates the nexus between technological novelty and sustainability imperatives by examining three commercially available AI toys alongside a speculative conceptual model. Our findings suggest that achieving a truly sustainable AIToy ecosystem requires a departure from traditional linear production models. Instead, the industry must pivot toward a circular, human-centric design philosophy that harmonizes cognitive enrichment with environmental and ethical stewardship.
